January 2010

CIEL participated in the sixth session of the High-Level Task Force on the Implementation of the Right to Development, which took place in Geneva on January 14-22, 2010. The session focused on the Millennium Development Goal 8 Target E on Access to Essential Medicines and Target F on Transfer of Technology, and the Right to development criteria and corresponding operational sub-criteria.

During the session, Dr. Marcos Orellana presented a study on the linkages between the right to development and climate change, with particular attention on issues concerning international cooperation, financial arrangements and the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
