CIEL participates in two international conferences on Extractive Industries and Indigenous Peoples

CIEL participated in an International Conference on Extractive Industries and Indigenous Peoples, organized by the Indigenous Peoples' International Centre for Policy Research and Education (Tebtebba) in Manila, Philippines from 23-25 March 2009. The conference adopted the Manila Declaration, available here in English and Spanish.
CIEL also participated in the International Expert Workshop on Indigenous Peoples' Rights, Corporate Accountability and the Extractive Industries, which was co-organized by the Secretariat of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) and Indigenous Peoples' International Centre for Policy Research and Education (Tebtebba). This Expert Workshop was held in Manila, Philippines from 27-29 March 2009.
