CIEL and the Eighth Biennial IASCP Conference
May 2000
The International Association for the Study of Common Property (IASCP) held its eighth biennial meeting, "Constituting the Commons: Crafting Sustainable Commons in the New Millennium," in Bloomington, Indiana from May 31-June 4, 2000. CIEL assisted lawyers from Kenya, Tanzania, Chad, Indonesia, the Philippines and Chile to submit papers and attend the conference. CIEL also hosted a roundtable panel on "Public Interest Law and Community-Based Property Rights, including the Commons", which included presentations by public interest lawyers from Chile, Chad, and the Philippines on issues related to community-based property rights in their respective countries.
