For Further Information, Contact Durwood Zaelke (dzaelke@ciel.org) Buenos Aires --The Spanish version of CIEL's book "Trade and the Environment: Law, Economics, and Politics" received a special award in the Ecology, Environment and Law Category at the annual Buenos Aires International Book Fair in April 1997. The Buenos Aires International Book Fair is one of the most prestigious book fairs around the world and is attended by over 1.5 million people each year. The Spanish version, entitled "Comercio Internacional y Medio Ambiente: Derecho, Economia y Politica," was recognized for its "high level of knowledge and source of current and updated information." The book was edited by CIEL attorneys, translated by former CIEL Law Fellow Eugenia Bec of Buenos Aires and published in Argentina in 1995 by Espacio Editorial. The Panel of Judges included representatives from the Argentinian NGO community and was chaired by the President of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair, Ms. Maria Esther de Miguel, one of Argentina's most respected modern literary figures.
