Daryl
Ditz is Senior Policy Advisor in the Chemical Program at the nonprofit Center
for International Environmental Law in Washington, DC. Over the past 25
years, he has worked at the state, federal and international levels on a
range of environmental issues including chemicals management, pollution
prevention, and public right-to-know.
Daryl is an active contributor to efforts to reform U.S. federal policy on chemicals and participated in campaigns around passage and implementation of REACH, the European chemicals law. In 2007-2008 he served on the Science Advisory Panel to California's Green Chemistry Initiative. From 2004-2006 he coordinated a national campaign for U.S. ratification of the Stockholm treaty on persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
Previously Daryl led business engagement for the World Wildlife Fund's Global Toxics Program with a special focus on Europe. He established the India Program at the Environmental Law Institute and organized research, workshops and other programs for judges, activists, and other professionals in the U.S. and Asia.
Daryl is the author of numerous publications and co-editor of two books:
Frontiers of Sustainability and Green Ledgers: Case Studies in Corporate
Environmental Accounting. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from
the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy
from Carnegie Mellon University.
