In 1998, Mr. Hunter co-authored International Environmental Law Policy, a text for classroom and reference use for academics, practitioners, and policymakers. During 1991, Mr. Hunter was an environmental consultant to the Czech and Slovak environmental ministries as well as several NGOs in Central Europe. Formerly, he worked for three years as an environmental associate at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and one year as executive director of WaterWatch of Oregon, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving western water laws. He is a 1983 graduate of the University of Michigan with majors in economics and political science, and a 1986 graduate of the Harvard Law School.
