Urszula Grycuk, CIEL Campaigner, EU PetrochemicalsUrszula is the EU Petrochemicals Campaigner in CIEL’s Fossil Economy Program, based in Geneva. Her work focuses primarily on building momentum to better regulate petrochemicals through European Union policies and building synergies with key civil society partners in the EU.

Prior to joining CIEL in November 2023, Urszula was the International Advocacy Coordinator in a leading sexual and reproductive health and rights organization in Poland and coordinated a network of women’s rights organizations.

Previously, in her capacity as a human rights lawyer, Urszula was employed in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and European Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.

Urszula holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Białystok in Poland and a psychosynthesis psychology degree from Middlesex University in London, UK. She is a certified Leadership Coach.

Currently, Urszula participates in the two-year capacity- and alliance-building programme Recharging Advocacy for Rights in Europe (RARE) bringing leading European human rights defenders and civil space advocates together to strategise together for human rights in the EU.

She brings to CIEL a passion for human rights advocacy and human-centered leadership.
